The massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas has drawn people for thousands of years. But there’s more to Enchanted Rock than just the dome. Hike, climb, have a picnic, watch birds, and see wildlife. Leashed dogs are permitted on the Loop Trail and the picnic areas.

Fredericksburg is home to more than 400 festivals and special events each year. Yes, that’s more than one festival or special event per day, so there is always something going on! Here are a few of the highlights.
Oktoberfest
This three-day festival in October celebrates the German roots of Fredericksburg with oompah music, polka dancing, German food, and plenty of wine and beer.
Christmas Nights of Lights
Held annually from the end of November, all of December, and the first week of January. Enjoy German Christmas traditions, warm Texas hospitality, the nightly Tree Lighting, caroling, and zillions of twinkling lights in the Marktplatz. Free!
Bluegrass Festival
Every year in April at Luckenbach. Family-friendly fun with famous bluegrass recording artists, lots o’ food, and plenty of adult beverages.
Peach Jamboree and Rodeo
It happens every year in June. Celebrate the Peach Harvest with the crowning of the Peach Queen, peach eating, pit spitting, peach pies & plenty o’ food, mutton bustin’, adult beverages, live music, professional rodeo events, and dances on Friday and Saturday nights after the rodeo.
Gillespie County Fair
Enjoy four days of fun every August at the oldest county fair in Texas. Carnival rides, Queen’s pageant, livestock shows, live music, horse racing, and a big parade!
